GCC citizens and residents can now enter Qatar without a Hayya Card, the Ministry of Interior has announced. If you’re thinking about travelling from Saudi to Doha, things are now even easier.
As of Tuesday December 6, citizens and residents of GCC countries will not be required to have match tickets, or apply for a Hayya Card for non-ticket holders.
Those driving to Qatar will be able to drive their own vehicle in Doha from Thursday December 8 without needing to pay a fee, but you will need to apply for a permit on the Ministry of Interior website at least 12 hours before arrival.
Under previous rules, entry was only allowed for Hayya Card holders and Qatar residents and citizens.
Fans without tickets have been able to enter Qatar since December 2, but a Hayya Card is still mandatory.
Visitors without tickets who are non-GCC residents must apply for a Hayya Card using the ‘early December’ feature, and will need to pay a QR500 fee and book hotel accommodation.
The QR500 fee does not apply to visitors under the age of 12.
Restrictions around entry into Qatar will remain in place until December 23, at which point visit visas will resume.
Hayya Card holders will be able to stay in Qatar until January 23, 2023.
