One of Riyadh’s newer restaurants is jumping on the Saudi National Day 2022 bandwagon. A.O.K Kitchen is introducing two sugar and dairy-free menu items to commemorate the special day. Al Dar (meaning home in Arabic) is a cooling drink of pomegranate and lemon juice, water and dates and topped with a gold leaf garnish. Talk about fancy. The baba sponge cake consists of cardamom, cinnamon, coffee and rose water. Into art? You can also enjoy local artwork reflecting the Kingdom by Raeda Aschour at the venue.

Comedy Night at AMC Cinema
After a laugh? AMC Cinemas will be hosting a stand-up comedy night to kick start your National Day weekend. Happening on Thursday September 22, the giggles will likely be brought on by Ken Garr, Saudi’s Mish’al Samman, Markus Birdman, British comedian Stephen Grant and Khalid Khalifa.

Ebda Adventure Park will be offering a free ticket for every three tickets that you purchase starting Wednesday September 21 until Saturday September 24. You can’t celebrate Saudi National Day 2022 in Riyadh without fireworks. Riyadh will be hosting this year’s fireworks at Thaghr Plaza in Hittin. The big event kicks off at 9pm sharp on Friday September 23. Be there or be square.

In honour of Saudi National Day 2022, Il Baretto will be adding two limited-edition items to the menu inspired by Saudi heritage and the flavours from the region. The dessert is made out of a lime tarte with, vanilla cremoso (creamy vanilla), date compote, apricot sorbet and salty crystal sugar. Interested? The Saudi National Day Drink is made from apricot jam and rosemary mixed with dates then topped with homemade fig tartine and jam date purée. We can’t wait to sip on that.

National Day airshow
We love a colourful airshow and that’s exactly what the Kingdom will be giving us this Saudi National Day. Saudi Arabia will be hosting airshows all over the region with a multiple aircrafts soaring through the sky exhibiting tricks, aerobatics, and more surprises. Make sure to keep your eyes on the skies, because airshows don’t come around too often in the city, so when they do, we like to have our cameras ready. We’re also expecting to see a performance by the Royal Guard band. How exciting.

If you’re looking for traditional ways to spend Saudi National Day 2022, you’ve come to the right place.
