Get ready for a steady pace.
The first AlUla Camel Cup is striding its way into the historical area of Saudi, and it’s offering some gigantic prizes.
The camel race is running from Tuesday March 14 to Friday March 17 in AlUla.
Organised by the Saudi Camel Racing Federation (SCRF), the AlUla Camel Cup will crown the winner with the title of “Champion of Champions” with a grand prize of SAR80 million.
Thankfully, you don’t need a budget quite so big to watch the event. AlUla Camel Cup tickets are available now rom SAR50 for a single-day pass and from SAR150 for a four-day pass. A single-day pass for March 17 is SAR80.

The event is open daily from 2pm to 10pm with the races happening from 4pm to 6pm daily. General admission tickets include races with grandstand seating and access to a purpose-built Heritage Village which features food stalls, restaurants, shopping at a qafila-style retail experience.
If you cannot make it out to AlUla, the race will also be livestreamed.

Camel racing has been a popular sport in the region dating back to the 7th century. Developing into a professional event, the first official camel race in the Kingdom took place back in 1964 as part of a heritage festival.
