Ready to get poppin’ with some legendary pop art? An AlUla Andy Warhol exhibition is adding even more colour to the Saudi landscape.
FAME: Andy Warhol in AlUla is now on at the Maraya, and the exhibition brings works from the famous artist to Saudi for the first time.
The new exhibition is the flagship event of the annual AlUla Arts Festival, which runs from February 12 to February 28.
The FAME: Andy Warhol in AlUla exhibition opened on Friday February 17, 2023. Thankfully, we have much longer than 15 minutes of FAME. The exhibition will run until Tuesday May 16.
You can book your tickets now via experiencealula.com. FAME tickets are free.
Check out the show from Wednesday to Sunday from 2pm to 9pm. Each timeslot is 30 minutes.
The AlUla Andy Warhol exhibit pays tribute to the artist, film director and producer and his influence on Pop Art, pop culture as well as art in general.
FAME: Andy Warhol in AlUla is launched in collaboration with Arts AlUla and The Andy Warhol Museum, an internationally renowned American institution with the largest collection of the artist’s work.
Andy Warhol is one of the world’s most instantly recognisable artists and is known for his work that helped define Pop Art in the 1960s. You know the lithographs of Dolly Park and Elizabeth Taylor – and you will get to see both of them at the AlUla exhibition.
The AlUla Andy Warhol exhibition features iconic artworks curated especially for the famous Maraya. Look out for Warhol’s iconic prints of famous artists, Hollywood stars, sport legends and musicians including Muhammad Ali and Marlon Brando as well as some personal pieces of Warhol’s.
At the AlUla Andy Warhol exhibition, you can also check out screen tests of ’60s icons and rarely seen archived photographs of Hollywood publicity photos and Polaroids. It’s all about art, culture, fame and celebrities.
Fans can also see the popular Silver Clouds work and archival photography.

Additionally, there will be talks and workshops, including screen printing and designing, if you’re feeling inspired by Warhol’s colourful prints. (No pressure.)
Furthermore, there will be a 13 Most Beautiful exhibition featuring large-scale projections of Warhol’s silent films set to a specially commissioned live soundtrack by Dean and Britta which will take place at Maraya on February 16.
Given the A-list subject matter, “FAME” is a great name for the exhibition. Additionally, it plays on Warhol’s idea of becoming the world’s most famous artist and complications that accompany fame. The show also references one of Warhol’s most famous quotes: “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes”. It’s something that couldn’t be truer today, which makes the AlUla Andy Warhol exhibition perfectly timed.
