Here’s everything to know about The Mukaab in Riyadh.
What is it?
It will be a new landmark and giga-project in Riyadh, that will redefine the city’s skyline, and likely living, with its ability to transport you to immersive worlds. The new indoor super-city will act as a state-of-the-art entertainment, dining and retail space as part of the New Murabba development, which will be the world’s largest modern downtown. Phew.
Focusing on The Mukaab, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) structure will fuse the latest technology and Najdi architecture. It will be one of the biggest built structures in the world with a square size of 400 metres high, 400 metres wide and 400 metres long.
It promises to take our minds, along with hospitality and leisure, to new levels by creating a gateway to immersive, constantly changing worlds.
One minute you will be able to explore outer space, then the next you can dive underwater.
Where will The Mukaab be?
The Mukaab will sit at the centre of the New Murabba development at the intersection of King Salman and King Khalid roads located in the northwest Riyadh.
New Murabba is a sustainability-focused Saudi giga-project. The new Saudi development was announced on Thursday February 16 by His Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister and Chairman of the New Murabba Development Company (NMDC). It is in line with Saudi Vision 2030, and the development has a projected opening date accordingly.
So, what is inside The Mukaab?
That soon-to-be iconic cube will hold a lot. There will also be more than 80 entertainment and culture venues, a museum, theatre and even a university at the spiral base.
On February 24, PIF shared the first video highlighting what the inside of the world’s first immersive, experiential destination will look like.
