There’s a brand-new airport coming to Riyadh soon. Plans for a King Salman International Airport have just been announced.
King Salman International Airport will be one of the world’s largest airports covering an area of about 57 square kilometres, with six parallel runways, plus, existing terminals named after King Khalid.
High Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz confirmed plans for the airport today (Monday November 28).

The sustainable airport will have a whopping 12 kilometres of airport support facilities, residential and recreational facilities and different retail stores.
The interior of King Salman International Airport will reflect the Saudi culture.
If you’re looking to travel, the Kingdom has even more exciting options coming soon. Saudi is also getting a new airline. RIA which will take regional flights before expanding globally. The new airport and airline are both parts of Vision 2030.
There are so many new exciting travel updates coming from Saudi, there’s been an extension on visit visas from 30 days to 90 days, and Hayya Card holders (for the World Cup) are also able to apply for free e-visas during the World Cup to explore the country.
