All of the 1,300 animals from 190 species will be spread out over six subzones.

Each subzone will offer unique experiences from a challenging wall climb, to an interactive house of turtles experience, feeding giraffes, lions and tigers enclosures, feeding white tigers, lion tug of war (yikes), an owl house, a virtual reality experience, the farm and more. It sounds like a hoot.

Riyadh Season’s Riyadh Zoo zone opens soon

Riyadh Zoo runs across 55 acres and was open to the public in 1987. It is one of the largest and oldest zoos in Saudi Arabia and it has a variety of exotic animals including seals, kangaroos, hyenas, gazelles, leopards and more. The zoo is also well known for its train ride which includes a 20-minute tour of the entire zoo. Thankfully, you don’t have to attempt to see all 1,300 critters on foot.

We’re expecting to experience the already-popular zoo on a bigger scale with this year’s Riyadh Season festivities. If we know anything about the Saudi Seasons, it is that there’s always a great surprise right around the corner, and we’re up for it.

Riyadh Season 2022 has introduced a total of 15 zones to the mix with three free zones including Souq Al-Zal, Suwaidi Park and Qariat Zaman as well as a permanent zone, Via Riyadh.
