Hajj 2022 guidelines and rules have just been announced. The Kingdom will be welcoming 1 million pilgrims, including local and international.
All pilgrims must be below the age of 65 and must be vaccinated with the main COVID-19 doses that have been approved by the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia. Also, pilgrims are required to submit a negative PCR test taken a maximum of 72 hours before departure to the Kingdom for Hajj 2022.

This is so that the Kingdom can “preserve the success it has had in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.” The pilgrims will also be required to wear masks and abide by all precautionary measures “to preserve their health and safety while performing the hajj rituals.”

In other updates, observance of i’tikaf has also been permitted in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, by the General President of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais.
I’tikaf is when worshippers stay in a mosque for the last 10 days of Ramadan and devote themselves to prayer and stay away from worldly affairs.
