The move comes after Saudi Arabia lifted nearly all COVID-19 restrictions like masks in public places, social distancing, and vaccination status, too. Although, according to the COVID-19 update, wearing masks is still mandatory in closed areas and indoors.

For social distancing, however, the rules no longer apply. As of the latest COVID-19 update, the country will be “suspending the application of social distancing measures in all open and closed places, activities, and events”.

Also new on the travelling scene is the fact that unvaccinated travellers are now allowed into the Kingdom, PCR testing is no longer required to enter the country, and a 10-day home and institutional quarantine has also been axed.

It is still encouraged for people to take their booster shot and get triple vaxxed by the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia.

The easing of COVID-19 restrictions in Saudi Arabia follows a strong vaccination programme with high immunisation and immunity rates. The immunisation rate is now 99 percent for citizens aged 12 and above. Stay updated on the latest travel news, COVID-19 updates, and anything and everything Riyadh right here at Time Out.
