The largest anime city in the world is now open at Riyadh Season

Anime Town Japan will have over 350 shows

Riyadh Season 2022 goes big. The famous record-breaking event has another milestone with the biggest anime city in the world: Anime Town Japan.

The Boulevard World zone is hosting Anime Town. The area will likely feel like its own very own colourful Japanese town complete with streets and areas: Animeverse Street, Tokyo Real Nakamise, Neo Scramble Crossing and Matsuri Garden.

Riyadh Season’s Anime Town Japan will have 11 anime exhibitions and more than 350 entertainment shows in three theatres spread across the zone.

Just the Animeverse Street at the Boulevard World’s Anime Town will have six anime galleries, three anime stores and 25 unique entertainment experiences.

If all of the touring around town leaves you peckish, you can sample food inspired by famous anime shows.

Head over to the Tokyo Real Nakamise for games and an authentic Asian market.

The Neo Scramble Crossing area is hosting an anime fair and has the popular Akihabara game centre, as well as interactive robots. Up for a challenge? Head to the Japanese House of Horror.

You can also take a trip to Matsuri Garden for anime exhibitions, the Yakura Theatre and various tournaments.

Boulevard World is a new Riyadh Season zone. Not to be mistaken with Boulevard Riyadh City, Boulevard World gives us the opportunity to “travel” around the world, and it’s clearly making a grand first impression with the launch of Anime Town Japan.

Riyadh Season always goes big and has the records to prove it. The 2022 opening ceremony won a Guinness World Record for “the most remote-operated multirotor/drones launching fireworks simultaneously. The 2021 edition bagged four records, too. Let’s see what other records the Saudi Season will set.
