Zones

For starters, Boulevard Riyadh City as we mentioned has nine subzones. These are the musical fountain or dancing fountain, the square (a replica of New York’s Times Square), the garden and the Trocadero area (inspired by London’s Coventry Street). After more, there’s also the music area, the avalanche (snow dome) area, the theatre area, the studio area and finally the sports area.

City of Ice Cream Lounge

If you’re after a cool lounge and a quick pick me up to help you explore the huge Boulevard Riyadh, head in here. As soon as you make your way past the gates you’re welcomed into the square, which is where you’ll find City of Ice Cream Lounge. The spot serves its signature cheesecakes drenched in the most delicious-looking ice cream that you drizzle on top which makes for a great video, cake choices include caramel, strawberry and chocolate. Now it wouldn’t be called the City of Ice Cream without having ice cream on the menu. Cool off with flavours passion fruit, saffron and cardamom and pistachio, along with the classics of course.

½ Million

It wouldn’t be a great coffee list without Time Out Riyadh Restaurant Awards best coffee winner ½ Million. This venue is an often frequented spot by locals all over the capital, and when it opens up a branch in Boulevard Riyadh City, you best believe it’s one of the most popular spots here too. Pistachio and Spanish lattes are the norm here, and if you’re looking for something stronger, cold brews are also a popular drink choice here.

L’Eclair de Génie

A Parisian dream L’Eclair de Génie is one of the most popular spots at Boulevard Riyadh City. If it didn’t click after reading the name, this spot specialises in éclairs (dough pastry stuffed with cream topped with flavoured icing). Don’t have much of a sweet tooth, the spot also serves savoury pastries like salmon, veggie and turkey crossaints. For the éclairs you get to pick from a variety of flavours like tiramisu, berries, salted caramel and more. Got room for more? Nine Soft Serve

We scream for ice cream. Nine Soft Serve is a popular spot for soft serve in Riyadh. The huge menu serves ice cream for everyone. There’s a monthly flavour released in the beginning of each month and themed menu items that are inspired by said flavour. That’s not all though, the regular menu is huge. There’s an entire section dedicated to vanilla soft serve topped with berries, brownies, kunafah and more, different chocolate ice cream options and cheesecake flavoured soft serve too.

Fancy hand-made doughnuts straight from Los Angeles? Randy’s Doughnuts was founded in 1952 and is now one of the most popular dougnut shops in the world. Fittingly the venue opened its first branch in the Kingdom at one of the most popular locations in the city. You can either try out its Saudi specials halawa bagara (cream fudge) or halawa tahinia (tahini) or go the classic route with the maple, glazed or chocolate options.

Riyadh’s biggest cinema opened up in Boulevard Riyadh City. The Muvi Cinemas location features 25 screens, Saudi Arabia’s first 4DX screen and is the biggest in the world in terms of seats.
