Al Yamamah Football Club

Located off Circle 8 at Yamamah Park, this club has been home to Riyadh’s first female football team since 2007. Ladies must be 16 and over, but there are also youth programmes for girls aged four to 16. Furthermore, there are programmes for boys aged four to 12, as well as an academy for boys aged 12 to 17. Meanwhile, Al Yamamah Park itself is a great place to play football in Riyadh thanks to its expansive field. There’s a playground for kids, walking tracks, and basketball courts, too, for all sorts of sporty fun.

Al Izdihar Football Court

This small north Riyadh footie hangout has a real community vibe. This might be partly owing to the popular O’MY ice cream truck on the roadside – hey, aspiring pro footballers gotta eat. The AstroTurf-covered, fenced-off court is one of the places to play football in Riyadh for free. There are other amenities to get active at, including a basketball court.

Al Izdihar Soccer Field

Al Izdihar’s clearly the place for football in Riyadh because this soccer field is just east of Al Izdihar Football Court. There’s a lot going on here, with several pitches to choose from, a youth football academy and the Women’s Football League. The pitches are large and there’s plenty of parking, which makes Al Izdihar Soccer Field ideal for groups of 10 or more. A clear effort is made to keep these spacious facilities well-maintained and clean so expect to pay a bit more to rent a pitch here. Regulars say it’s worth the riyals.

Alsayegh Football Courts

Goal Junior

If you have budding Beckhams in your brood, Goal Junior is the best place for football in Riyadh for littles ones. Children aged five to 15 are offered the opportunity to play the game in 12 to 15 minute matches in a controlled environment. Children can come alone or with friends. Iskan Stadium

If you’re down for a long-term commitment, Iskan Stadium’s facilities have got the works when it comes to football in Riyadh: a monthly subscription option, an incorporated youth academy, great surfaces, and respected trainers. Take your pick between an AstroTurf or a grass pitch, which are large enough to accommodate teams of up to 11. You’ll find it down in the southeast of the city, opposite Zarqa Al Yamama Bukhari Restaurant on the Al-Kharj Road and south of Rabia Hospital.

If you’re after a top football spot that most locals enjoy, you could head to J.L Football Ground to play football in Riyadh.
