Free World Cup SIM cards are on offer for visiting football fans making the trip to Qatar.

That’s the latest offer from Ooredoo Qatar, as the country looks set to host the biggest competition in sport.

It means travelling fans can make the most of their time in the country, as the world’s best players look set to do battle on the biggest stage of all.

The deal is eligible for any fan with a Hayya Card – necessary for anyone visiting Qatar during the World Cup.

Anyone with a match ticket can apply for a Hayya Card, and international card holders can invite up to three non-ticketed fans to come with them.

The Hayya SIM cards will be available at dispensing machines positioned across Qatar – available at airports, ports, land borders, taxis, metro stations, fan zones, Ooredoo shops and FIFA fan accommodations.

Activation should be quick and easy – with e-SIM cards activated as soon as the customer connects to the network.

Physical SIM cards can be activated via the Ooredoo app, or the Ooredoo shop.

It comes as excitement builds for the football tournament – and it’s not just Qatar expecting an influx of visitors.

Dubai is braced for a surge in people traffic, as many look to capitalise on its proximity to the World Cup hosts.

Winter is one of the busiest times of the year anyway, as visitors and residents alike look to capitalise on the ability to sit outside.

And with a whole host of venues adding big screen capacity to air games during the tournament, Dubai looks set to be the next best thing to having match tickets.
