Luxury wellness resort Miraval The Red Sea to launch in Saudi Arabia

The new property will open on Shaura Island

A new wellness resort is coming to Saudi Arabia. Miraval The Red Sea from the Hyatt is officially happening so start dreaming about your mini-break now. Miraval The Red Sea marks the first time that Miraval Resorts has expanded globally, and the forthcoming resort promises to provide guests with a unique wellness journey in the Middle East.

The new luxury wellness resort was officially confirmed on Wednesday May 18. The property on Shaura Island, Saudi Arabia will have 180 rooms, including 20 villas, where guests can relax and take a memorable staycation away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Miraval Resorts are about “providing authentic, inclusive and immersive wellness experiences” which includes helping them find balance in their busy, modern lives.

The Red Sea resort will be spread across 310,000 square metres on Shaura Island and draw inspiration from the incredible Red Sea beaches. Miraval The Red Sea will be designed by the award-winning design team at Foster+Partners.

Wondering about the Miraval The Red Sea amenities you’ll be able to enjoy? There will be The Life in Balance Spa, which promises to be the largest in the Red Sea destination at 3,700 square metres with 39 treatment rooms offering signature spa treatments and wellness programmes that are inspired by the Middle East’s heritage.

The resort is focused on a full balanced experience for the body and mind, so there will be plenty of places to get active including walking trails and a mangrove boardwalk, as well as rooms to inspire creativity with music, workshops and lectures.

As for dining, Life in Balance Culinary Kitchen will be the signature central dining room offering nutritious, healthy dishes.

Wondering when Miraval The Red Sea will open? There is no confirmed date, but when Miraval The Red Sea opens, the property is expected to be Miraval’s fourth resort and its first outside the United States.

Shaura Island is the central island of the highly anticipated The Red Sea Project, and it will be home to multiple sustainable hotels. To be precise, there are more than 16 properties in the first phase of development, which works out to over 3,000 hotel keys. The Red Sea Development is one of the biggest parts of Saudi Vision 2030 and the green hotels expect to see one million visitors a year by 2030.

It’s not The Red Sea Development that is bringing new hotels to the Kingdom. There are a multitude of new hotels opening Saudi Arabia. In Diriyah alone, there are plans for new hotels from the Four SeasonsFauchon Hotel, Park Hyatt, ArmaniRosewood Riyadh, and more. Additionally, it was also recently announced that Anantara was expanding into Saudi Arabia and that a Four Seasons AlUla is confirmed. Phew.
