Diriyah Gate set to open doors for a top-tier dining destination

Bujairi Terrace will include four Michelin-starred brands and five Saudi restaurants

There’s even more reason to be excited about the Diriyah Gate, as it’s not just shaping up to be a leading cultural attraction, but now a hub for fine-dining experiences. The development announced that Bujairi Terrace, a collection of 21 globally-renowned restaurants all in one 15,000 square metre location, will be opening early next year.

So if you want to enjoy a Michelin-starred meal, Diriyah Gate should be on your foodie radar. Four of the 21 brands hold Michelin stars at their flagship outposts abroad, those being Bruno, TATEL, Hakkasan and Long Chim. The outlets include 12 entirely new brands to the Kingdom. Plus, we are especially looking forward to five brands that are Saudi-owned.

Newcomers include Angelina, Brunch & Cake, Bruno, Café de L’Esplanade, COVA, Flamingo Room by tashas, Long Chim, Hakkasan, Mastro’s, Sarabeth’s, TATEL, and Villa Mamas. Saudi-owned brands include GRIND, Somewhere, SUGAR, Sum + Things and TAKYA.

Jerry Inzerillo, group CEO, DGDA, says, “We are excited to welcome the world to Diriyah; demonstrating the aspirations and progress of Vision 2030 set forth by His Royal Highness Mohammed Bin Salman. As part of our mandate to create a world-class lifestyle destination in Saudi Arabia, Bujairi Terrace exemplifies the excellence of Saudi cuisine and culinary talent, and invites visitors locally, regionally and globally to experience Saudi culture through its cuisine and warm hospitality.”

“We’re delighted to partner with such esteemed dining brands and to have attracted several new to market restaurant operators, representing an enriched consumer experience which will be unmatched in the region.”

The Diriyah Gate Development Authority aims to preserve Diriyah’s cultural heritage while also developing new activities in the birthplace of the Kingdom.

Jonathan Timms, president of Diriyah Development Company, adds, “Bujairi Terrace’s superb location within Riyadh province and overlooking the Jewel of the Kingdom, UNESCO World Heritage Site At Turaif, has led to a world-class curation of global F&B brands.

“We look forward to providing an iconic dining setting for our partners’ brands, many of whom will be opening for the first time in Saudi Arabia and some even as a first in the Middle East, which we anticipate will attract first-rate dining guests from both the local as well as international markets.”

Diriyah was formerly the capital of the first Saudi state in 1774 AD. The historic city was first established on the northwestern edge of Riyadh in 1446 AD. Upon completion, it will boast 38 hotels, museums, shopping, entertainment spaces and now a gastronomical offering that should help put Riyadh on a foodie lover’s map. Guests will be enjoying dishes from all over the world in traditional Najdi style architecture which traditionally features structures made with sun-dried mud bricks and mud.

Diriyah is set to be one of the coolest tourist destinations in the Kingdom, with Bujairi Terrace making up only part of DGDA’s $50.6 billion master plan that aims to transform Diriyah into an exciting hub with a little something for everyone.
