All about Noor Riyadh
Noor Riyadh is an annual citywide festival of light and art. The massive festival is a part of the Riyadh Art initiative launched by His Highness King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to collectively transform the capital.
It aims to nurture and promote creativity, along with local and international talent through awe-inspiring experiences. Given that Noor Riyadh 2022 won six Guinness World Records, we would say its was mission accomplished.
Noor Riyadh From Spark to Spirit exhibit
Taking place at Riyadh’s art district JAX, Diriyah, the Noor Riyadh From Spark to Spirit exhibition examines light as a “signal of change and the role it plays in shaping our relationship to the world”.
The exhibition brings together 30 artists from Saudi and the world into three themed galleries to showcase a journey across the three areas: Technologies of Light, Architectonics of Light and Consciousness of Light.
There are several artworks to look forward to at the exhibition, most notably Light Into Idea, which showcases a collection of 15 abstract glass pieces on a steel surface by Saudi artist Lina Gazzaz, British artist Haroon Mirza’s installation Energy for the Sake of Power (Solar Symphony 16) and Jim Campbell’s Eroding Wave.
