Riyadh Season: Zaman Village opens

Step back in time at this new heritage hotspot

History lovers and culture fanatics this one is for you. Riyadh Season’s latest zone, Zaman Village or better known as Qariat Zaman, has opened up for the public’s viewing pleasure.

Zaman Village at Riyadh Season aims to be a family-friendly destination, as it showcases Saudi culture and history. The zone will recreate Saudi’s past and celebrate the country’s legacy.

Located in the Granada neighbourhood in Riyadh, the Zaman Village will welcome people of all ages. The area covers roughly 65,000 square meters of land, so you have a lot to explore and look forward to. While you are there, you can learn and take part in some old-school activities.

Adorned with lights and interactive displays, this zone at Riyadh Season oozes history from each nook and cranny. The activities include a shopping lane where you can learn about Saudi craftmanship and even pay a few riyals to take your choice of gifts home.

The shopping lane sells pottery, daggers, ceramics, oud and jewellery, in addition to Al-Tayibin shops (good old shops) that offer old-style sweets, toys and more. While little ones will love the Fun Lane, as it has exciting wall climbing activities and a huge playground.

In the TV lane, an installation of old-style TVs are presented together and you can watch shows like The Adventures of Sinbad, Adnan and Lina. While music and dance enthusiasts can catch live performances of ancient folk songs and dances from every part of the kingdom.

Make a day of it, as you can also head over to the Al-Atayeb Lane which offers traditional dishes with a modern spin. With exciting heritage, shopping and food experiences, you can easily spend the day at Zaman Village.
