A guide to all the zones at Riyadh Season

Get into the zone(s) with our essential guide

Riyadh Season has fully taken off and with the jam-packed schedule of 7500 active days, there’s so much going on. Do not fear, as we have come up with your guide to all of the zones. Without further ado, here’s our guide for everything you need to know about Riyadh Season’s zones.

There are a humungous 14 zones, each containing its very own exhibitions, concerts and more. With the running tag line, “imagine more”, we are ready to expect the unexpected.

Zone 1: The Boulevard

Welcome to the biggest area of Riyadh Season this year. The area includes a three km walkway, eight subsections each with their own events, festivals and retail stores made specifically for each one. Children can enjoy up to 500 electronic games of their choice while also enjoying bites to eat at the amazing restaurants nearby. It promises to be a fun day for the entire family.

Zone 2: Via Riyadh

Now, this is where you go to pamper and spoil yourself silly because trust us, you deserve it. With the high-end retail stores, deliciously put-together fine-dining restaurants, VIP cinemas and an international five-star luxury hotel, this may just be one of the best staycations spots.

Zone 3: Combat Field

Let out all of your pent-up stress, frustration and anxiety over at zone three. Challenge yourself with real-time paintball fights, live-action battlefields, tricky escape rooms and firearms. Ready, set, fire.

Zone 4: Winter Wonderland

In 2019, Winter Wonderland first made its way to Riyadh and it was one of the most popular experiences and events at Riyadh Season. So this time around they are not slowing down, as it promises to be 40% larger than before. With 103 games, 52 rides and six subzones, this is the zone you’d want to go to if you’re looking for an adventure-filled day with your family.

Zone 5: Riyadh Front

Riyadh Front is a gorgeous destination for beautiful photos, wonderful architecture and so much more. For Riyadh Season, they are bringing together some whopper exhibitions in the form of the Saudi Anime Show, Riyadh Motor Show and Jewelry Exhibition.

Zone 6: Al-Murabaa

This wonderful zone is predominantly art-based, focusing on diversity and celebrating it fully. They have seven international culinary experiences, live music to set the mood and illuminated walking paths at night. As French pastry chef Pierre Hermé and celebrity chef Matthew Kenny are set to showcase their innovative menus, head on over here and enjoy a feast your eyes and your stomach.

Zone 7: Riyadh Safari

Calling all animal lovers, Riyadh Safari is also dedicated to educating and showcasing the diversity in the animal kingdom. The animals include the very rare white tigers, 18 species of macaw parrots and much more. As there are also international cafés and restaurants, you can enjoy your meal with an animal-filled view.

Zone 8: Al Athriyah

If you enjoy bopping your head to a little music while you enjoy a luxury high-end meal from an international restaurant, this one’s for you. Exclusive musical performances, retail shops that reflect the cultural heritage of Saudi Arabia, and so much more.

Zone 9: Riyadh Oasis

Go into the depths of the desert at Oasis Riyadh, which is located on the northern outskirts of the capital. In this zone, you can leave your footprints in the sand and dine at international restaurants, listen to traditional music and watch artistic performances. In the past, the area hosted pop-ups of globally renowned restaurants including Amazonico, Zuma and Ninive.

Zone 10: The Groves

Pup owners and lovers this one’s for you. The Groves is a vibrant place to bring your dog to and watch them have the time of their life. You can look forward to experiencing the arts in mind-boggling detail along with visiting and enjoying the cafés and restaurants.

Zone 11: Riyadh Pulse

Watch some serious technological wizardry at Riyadh Pulse. In this futuristic zone, you can step into 3D displays, which social media won’t do justice to. So put your phone down and be in the moment. As you’ll be dazzled by the visuals, which no mobile screen can replicate.

Zone 12: Zaman Village

Sure, we know Riyadh is a city of the future with soaring skyscrapers and entrepreneurial ambition, but we also love that its passionate about its past. Zaman Village adds a little touch of the old school to the festival. Be entertained by traditional Saudi songs and see classic Saudi art in the heritage village. Come celebrate the growth and progress of modern-day Saudi Arabia, while also celebrating the old charm.

Zone 13: Al Salam Tree

We know that all these events and exhibitions may be a little tiring. While you may well be overwhelmed with Riyadh Season, the organisers have thought of everything and created a dedicated spot so that you can have a little bit of silence. Here’s where you can enjoy the beauty of nature and swap the city sounds for some tranquil beats. Fountains shows and mellow activities are what this place is all about.

And finally Zone 14: Khalouha

Watch poetry in motion at Al Khalouha poetry festival. Enjoy the wonderful art of bending and shaping words as the poets take you on a journey through everything. Sip on your favourite coffee from the nearby cafés as you enjoy the calm.
