We are excited to announce that tickets just went on sale for movie screenings at Saudi’s Red Sea International Film Festival.
The films in the festival are divided into 11 categories: Competition, Short Film Competition, International Spectacular, Arab Spectacular, Festival Favorites, New Saudi/ New Cinema (Feature), New Saudi/ New Cinema (Shorts), Treasures, Next Generation, Immersive and Episodic.
As part of the competition category, we’ll be seeing Hit the Road by Panah Panahi, which won Best Film at the London Film Festival, Brighton 4th by Levan Koguashvili who is an award-winning Georgian director, and so many more amazing features with touching storylines.
The Red Sea International Film Festival promises to be one of the biggest film events in Saudi Arabia. Taking place in Jeddah’s UNESCO World Heritage Site old-town, Al Balad, it will bring together local and international filmmakers across December 6-15, and gives visitors the chance to watch 138 original films from 67 countries.
Mohammed Al-Turki, the Red Sea International Film Festival’s chairman of the committee, says, “This is truly a landmark moment as we launch our first international Film Festival to celebrate original cinematic voices and showcase an extensive selection of films from around the world to local, regional and international audiences.”
The Red Sea International Film Festival celebrates Arab as well as World Cinema and will showcase a diverse range of films. Attracting film lovers and filmmakers, the festival gives you the chance to discover new and classic films and provides a platform for industry professionals to connect.
The extensive program includes competitions, short films, international films and Saudi films. While immersive experiences, which are site-specific installations, mix experimental filmmaking and art techniques to create a one-off experience.
