There is certainly no shortage of burger places in the Saudi capital, but Section-B is a home-grown hero. Born in Jeddah in 2015, the eatery has expanded into Khobar, Makkah and Riyadh’s hip Hittin district.
Here in Riyadh, Section-B’s industrial setting has a whiff of old-school diner vibes with its open L-shaped kitchen, and the feeling suits the classic menu. However, there’s a clear modernity that’s echoed in the young staff and atmosphere in the casual eatery. Even in off-peak hours, Section-B has a buzz.
Its slim menu is an ode to classic burgers (beef, chicken and vegan) and sliders and fries. Section-B’s classic B burger features an Angus beef patty with cheddar cheese, onion, tomato, dill pickles, iceberg lettuce and a blended signature SB sauce. Choose to double up the patty and pick between fluffy white and brown potato buns that are baked in house. A half-dozen bonus toppings can be added from fried eggs to jalapeños. If it’s your first visit, keep it simple and try the B burger without add-ons.
Apps include three types of fries (naturally) and a surprising crispy okra with a zesty curry sauce for those feeling adventurous. Want dessert? There’s a banana pudding as the solo sweet item.
Section-B isn’t a craft burger place of endless customisations and unnecessary complications. It has taken on customer feedback to come up with a confident, edited menu.
The result? One of the very best burgers not just in Riyadh, but Saudi, too.
