The great thing about the towers of the Bosco Verticale in Milan is that they aren’t just pretty to look at, they’re also actively great for the local environment. They contain as many trees as you could fit into a hectare of forest and provide tons of clean air and habitat for local wildlife. The BV shows how to reforest effectively and, crucially, with style.
But aside from just gawping at the Bosco Verticale over the internet, did you know that you can actually stay in it? One of the flats in the complex is available to rent on Airbnb, and it’s exactly as stylish as you’d expect.
The ‘Elegant Designer Flat in Bosco Verticale’ has one bedroom and sleeps two people. It has Wi-Fi, air conditioning, room-darkening shades and loads of chic Italian furniture, as well as access to an on-site gym. Prices start at around $250 (£184) per night.
Since the Bosco Verticale was built in 2014, it’s inspired plenty of like-minded projects around the world. The towers that make up the development hold 20,000 trees overall, and the greenery is watered with filtered waste water. The flats themselves use largely solar power.
The downside of this being such a unique rental is that it appears to be booked up until at least February 2025. If your heart’s set on staying there, we’d suggest checking the rental’s Airbnb page regularly.
