When Diriyah Gate opens, it may well be one of the most happening spots in Saudi Arabia. Not only does it have a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it will also welcome globally-renowned restaurants, retail brands and luxury hotels.
Diriyah Gate has just announced the first wave of hotels opening in the district. As part of the US$50.6 billion transformations of the historic city, there will be 38 hotel brands and the first 14 of those have been revealed. The hotels will be in Diriyah Gate and Wadi Safar.
Diriyah Gate itself is a five square kilometre heritage, tourism and lifestyle destination. The hotels that will call it home include Address Hotels + Resorts and Baccarat Hotels & Resorts. Campbell Gray Hotels and Resorts will have a property in the Bujairi district, as will a 100-key Capella Hotels and Resorts property.
Legendary French F&B player Fauchon will open its first Fauchon Hotel in the Middle East, and an 80-key retreat from Hilton’s LXR Hotels & Resorts will make its debut in Saudi Arabia.
The brands also opening in Diriyah Gate include Orient Express, Raffles, Park Hyatt, The Ritz-Carlton, Rosewood, and Marriott’s The Luxury Collection. To the west of Diriyah, Wadi Safar will house Oberoi and Six Senses.
Jerry Inzerillo, group CEO of DGDA, says, “We are honoured to have attracted such iconic brands to the destination and look forward to unveiling the hotels’ next-level offerings for Saudi Arabia’s visitors and locals over the forthcoming months. This news marks a very special time for the development, and it is a superb example of Vision 2030 being implemented.”
You don’t have to wait long for the first hotel, which will be Marriott’s Luxury Collection property opening in 2022. So you can already start thinking about your next staycation.
