Gamers8 Riyadh is here. The huge esports event in the Saudi capital is happening from Thursday July 14 to Thursday September 8 at a specially built venue at Boulevard Riyadh City. The gaming festival aims to be a popular summer event with countless shows and futuristic experiences. Here’s everything you need to know about Gamers8 Riyadh.
What is Gamers8?
Gamers8 is one of the world’s biggest gaming events. Promising to be the ultimate destination for gamers, esports enthusiasts and families, Gamers8 Riyadh is a competitive tournament between local and international teams that also has plenty of entertainment.
From the creators of Gamers Without Borders, Gamers8 is on a mission to “blur the lines between what’s physical and what’s virtual” by bringing the virtual gaming and esports world into the physical world. Gamers and non-gamers alike are welcome to join in on the fun.
When will Gamers8 Riyadh be held?
Mark your calendars because Gamers8 is running from Thursday July 14 to Thursday September 8 at Boulevard Riyadh City.
What tournaments are happening?
Gamers8 will hold six tournaments: Dota 2, Fortnite, Rocket League, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and PUBG MOBILE.
The Rocket League tournament will be held from Thursday July 14 to Sunday July 17 followed by The Dota 2 tournament on Wednesday July 20 to Sunday July 24.
Carrying out the continued gaming excitement, The Fortnite competition will be held from Thursday July 28 to Sunday July 31 accompanied by the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege on Thursday August 4 to Sunday August 7.
The final gaming bash will be the PUBG tournament that will take place on Thursday August 11 until Saturday August 13.
Who will be competing at Gamers8 Riyadh?
We’ll be seeing a mix of international and local teams including qualifiers from the Saudi-based Gamers Without Borders. Each tournament will be divided based on the games at hand.
Look out for Saudi’s Team Falcons as well as FURIA, Team Liquid and FaZe Clan from Latin America and TSM FTX from North America.
What is the prize pool?
The overall prize pool will amount to a whopping total of $15 million with The Rocket League tournament granting a grand prize of $2 million alone.
What are the GameDev Programs?
The programmes are meant to be an opportunity for gaming enthusiasts to enhance their knowledge and skills.
GameDev programme include: The Creative Solution Exhibition, Himma BootCamp, Java Programming Minecraft, ThinkTech Talk, Game Development with Roblox, Game Design & Mechanics with Fortnite Creative & Unreal Engine, Make It and Play It, Gameathon, XR Development Workshops and the Gaming Debate League. What is happening at Gamers8 opening ceremony?
The Gamers8 Riyadh opening ceremony is happening on Thursday July 14 and will include concerts, fireworks, a drone show and more celebrations.
Salvatore Ganacci, Riyadh-based DJ Elfuego, Egyptian singer Amr Diab, Colombian superstar J Balvin and Swedish DJ Sebastian Ingrosso from Swedish House Mafia will be warming up the crowd for the gaming events ahead.
What artists are coming to Gamers8 Riyadh?
Axwell, Balqees, and Mohamed Hamaki will be taking the stage at Gamers8 Riyadh on Thursday July 21 followed by Lil Pump on Thursday July 28, R3HAB on Thursday August 4, and Marshmello and Nancy Ajram on Thursday August 11.
Next up, get ready to sing to Russ, Alan Walker, Disco Misr on Thursday August 18 followed by t he Black Eyed Peas and DJ Snake on Thursday August 25.
Looking for more? Saudi’s DJ Aseel will be performing on Thursday July 21. The local performance will be followed by Lost Frequencies, Ozuna, Malkin & Emad on Thursday July 28.
Dafencii and Wizkid will perform on Thursday August 4, Cosmicat on Thursday August 11, and JEED on Thursday August 18. Lastly, we’ll have The Engineers on Thursday August 25 and Jazzy Spa Sounds on Thursday September 1.
