Get ready, Riyadh, because the Time Out Riyadh Restaurant Awards 2022 are set to reveal Riyadh’s very best restaurants for the very first time.
Following a full year of anonymous reviewing, on Monday August 15, Time Out Riyadh will reveal the full list of categories and nominees for the 2022 Restaurant Awards, with the winners revealed at a glamorous gala dinner at Fairmont Riyadh on Thursday September 15, during an evening filled with live entertainment from local artists.
The Awards will be split into three sections: Regional, recognising cuisines ranging from Saudi to Japanese; Themed, awarding restaurants in categories including Burger and Dessert; and finally, Grand Prix, in which Riyadh’s Best Newcomer and Restaurant of the Year will both be awarded.
This marks the first time the Time Out Restaurant Awards will be coming to Riyadh, as well as Saudi Arabia, and we couldn’t be more excited to recognise the greatest dining experiences to be found in all corners of the Saudi capital.
The Time Out Riyadh Restaurant Awards are the brand’s first in Saudi, and join an established group in the region. In 2022, the Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards celebrated 17 years of recognising the very best restaurants in its city.
In each city, Time Out’s team of anonymous reviewers dine out all over town, from cool cafés to brilliant budget eats to sparkling fine-dining restaurants to find the very best of the best.

Riyadh’s restaurant scene has boomed over the past 12 months, with ever-more eateries launching to woo the capital’s enthusiastic, discerning diners. While global brands have eyed the city for expansion, Saudi-born restaurants and cafés have more than held their own, driving forward some of Riyadh’s most creative spaces.
