The first Saudi Idol singing competition is coming – and you can be part of it

Get ready to sing with the first Saudi Idol singing competition coming to a small screen near you very soon.

The globally popular talent show Idol franchise is debuting in Saudi Arabia this December to showcase top amateur signers across the Kingdom. Do you have what it takes to be the first Saudi Idol winner?

Saudi Idol will have a star-studded judging panel featuring Yemeni singer, poet and composer Aseel Abu Bakr, Emirati singer Ahlam, Syrian musical artist Asala and Iraqi-Saudi singer Majid al-Mohandes.

Wondering how to watch Saudi Idol in Riyadh? The first series of Saudi Idol will be broadcast on MBC. When the reality TV show debuts, It is one of the largest amateur programmes to be shown on the channel. 

The Idol talent show series is based om the 2001 British version created by Simon Fuller called Pop Idol. The show has since gone on to have hugely popular global versions like American Idol, Australian Idol, Indian Idol and now, Saudi Idol.

Saudi Idol aims to promote the Saudi music industry and highlight Saudi talent. Like most Idol talent shows, the singing competition will be divided into two stages: the auditions and the live shows.
