Saudi Arabia scraps COVID-19 restrictions in schools

New rules announced for educational institutes

Saudi Arabia just lifted COVID-19 restrictions like social distancing in schools.

This comes after Saudi Arabia removed most of its COVID-19 restrictions, with major changes to mask mandates, social distancing in public places, PCR testing and more.

Effective as soon as the third academic term begins, social distancing will no longer be a part of classrooms, sports, and playground activities, including all sectors, elementary, secondary, and high schools.

The Ministry of Education has also scrapped four-tier mechanism by which the students’ attendance was previously measured. The four-tier mechanism was designed for each level separately, with primary school students divided into groups of 15 or less per room, secondary school being 20 or less students, and high schools and universities were capped at 21 to 40 students per room.

As of Saturday March 5, COVID-19 restrictions were amended to be: masks are no longer required in open spaces, social distancing has been scrapped in all open and closed places like mosques, hotels, malls, and more.

Visitors to the Kingdom are also not required to present PCR test results on arrival, but those on visitor visas will be required to have medical insurance to cover any COVID-19 treatment costs during their stay in Saudi Arabia.

Also, home quarantines have both been removed for travellers to Kingdom. Click here for more.

It is still encouraged for people to take their booster shot and get triple vaxxed by the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia.
