Bring on the nostalgia, Qariat Zaman is officially open.
One of the most anticipated Riyadh Season 2022 zones, Qariat Zaman (aka Zaman Village). opened on Thursday November 24.
It’s one of the three free zones at Riyadh Season 2022.
This distinctive area celebrates Saudi heritage by taking a look back at the Kingdom, focusing on the ’80s and ’90s.
This year, Qariat Zaman strives to take you on a feel-good journey of nostalgia through entertainment shows, interactive activities. Additionally, the Riyadh Season zone will showcase popular Saudi costumes and traditional clothes, along With traditional Saudi food and drinks.
Whether you’re a Riyadh resident, from around Saudi or just visiting, the zone promises to be a fun dive into Saudi heritage. Similarly, for adults it will likely bring on the warm fuzzy feelings about the past, and for younger people it is a chance to learn about the history of the Kingdom, including just what all the stuff is in the above photo.

Qariat Zaman tickets
You can enter Qariat Zaman without spending a Saudi riyal. Like we said, this is one of the free Riyadh Season zones. However, be sure to still book your tickets via the Riyadh Season website. Tickets to each of the subzones are available inside Qariat Zaman.
Qariat Zaman subzones
Go totally ’80s and ’90s with events, activities, shops and restaurants and multiple subzones.
Al Taybeen Theatre
If it’s the traditional live shows you’re after, this is likely your sport. The theatre is adorned with Saudi traditional motifs, and will Show various folk arts, concerts and programmes suitable for all age.
Al-Hush Stadium
It’s not just the World Cup and all the associated fan zones that have football. This is a sandy stadium that celebrates the Al-Harat Football League. Go on and kick it in the in the atmosphere of the original Saudi football spirit.
Field
This is another theatre that displays various folk arts. It is surrounded by restaurants and food stalls specialising in traditional Saudi food. Craving kabsa? You know where to go.

Bait Meznah
If you want to explore more of Saudi’s history through your stomach, Bait Meznah is the area to do so. You will find Saudi coffee along with other popular dishes of the Kingdom.
Studios
It’s time to take it to the small screen. This area goes back to the days of the first Saudi channel and when His Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz announced the start of television broadcasting. Go a tour of five studios and bring back a series of beautiful memories for you.
Qariat Zaman shops
If you’re inspired by the traditions of Saudi, you can head to the souks to pick up a keepsake. The shopping area is filled with a dozen shops selling fabrics, embroidery and old decorations produced locally.
Wadi Al-Masakil
It’s time to play. This is one of the Zaman Village areas great for the family. Gather up the group and enjoy old-time games such as nabeetah and saqla. Then talk about your wins over ice cream, cotton candy and more.
