The wait is almost over for the first Islamic Arts Biennale.
The exhibition will bring 280 artefacts along with 60 contemporary pieces and 15 never-before-exhibited works.
The contemporary arts and culture event starts on Monday January 23, and it will continue until Sunday April 23 at the Hajj Terminal in in Jeddah.
The first-ever Islamic Arts Biennale is part of the Diriyah Biennale Foundation (DPF).
The biennale will be open from 11am to 11pm on Sunday to Thursday, as well as Saturday and 2pm to 11pm on Friday.

Be prepared to journey across past, present and future perspectives into Islamic arts through the range of works from over 18 local and international intuitions including the Haramain Authority, the Benaki Museum in Athens and Paris’ Louvre.
The Islamic Arts Biennale is also showcasing 43 international masterpiece loans and 239 loans from across the Kingdom that focus on the theme of Awwal Bait (First House).
The terminal will host two separate pavilions of handcrafted historical items originally displayed in the Prophet’s Mosque and the Masjid Al Haram.
The Diriyah Biennale Foundation will host a biennale every year, alternating between the Contemporary Art Biennale and the Islamic Arts Biennale. The first Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale opened in December 2021 at JAX District in Riyadh. The Islamic Arts Biennale 2023 follows the event.
