First Look: Mohalla Riyadh

The Dubai favourite opens its doors in Riyadh on Tuesday March 8

Looking for a cool new spot for Indian street food? Dubai’s homegrown, fan-favourite Mohalla will soon be joining Riyadh’s ever-growing food scene.

This will be Mohalla’s first international venture, and it will be opening its doors on Tuesday March 8 at The Esplanade from Unified Hospitality Company.

Before it opens to the public, Time Out Riyadh got an exclusive first look at Mohalla Riyadh.

Mohalla Riyadh

As soon as you enter Mohalla Riyadh, you’re greeted with sprawling wall art, which immediately sets the vibes to a traditional Indian street, complete with the tiny neighbourhood snack store. You just might be tempted to take a seat in the wicker chair and snap a selfie against the décor.

You’re then led into the seating area which is complete with wooden tables, pink flower accents, and a lovely pop of colour against the brown, royal blue glasses and plates.

Each seat placement at Mohalla Riyadh has its own menu card which is divided into two sections: chota bhook and big bhook, which in Hindi means small and big portions, respectively.

The smaller portion of the menu features Indian classics with a modern twist, like raj kachori, bread pakora, and thepla chicken tacos. For mains, you can have keema pao, butter chicken, and the show-stopping mutton biryani.

End your gastronomic journey at Mohalla Riyadh on a high with the tasty karak (strong) tea, made with loose tea and milk.

Dinners will be able to experience all Mohalla has to offer when it opens on Tuesday March 8.
