Covid-19 booster shots will be mandatory in Saudi Arabia starting February 1

Adults must have the booster shot from February 1 2022

As concern grows over the Omricon variant, Saudi Arabia has updated its Covid-19 rules. Adults aged 18 years old and above will be required to have a booster dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, which enables them to keep their fully vaccinated status on the Tawakkalna application.

As of February 1 2022, adults will need to have the booster three months after they have been double jabbed so that they can maintain their vaccinated status. If individuals do not have the vaccinated status, they will not be able to partake in a variety of activities across the country.

We are looking at you, Time Out readers, as we know you love to make the most of the capital. If you do not have the vaccination status, however, you cannot join commercial, cultural, sports or tourist activities. You will not be able to enter government or private establishments, and you will also not be able to travel on planes and public transport.

If you are exempt from taking the Covid-19 vaccine, don’t worry, as you will not be required to take the booster shot. The government has also reminded people to continue to follow precautionary measures.

Under the current guidelines, masks are no longer mandatory outdoors and the country recently updated the list of countries that can now enter the kingdom. Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior issued a directive that allows fully vaccinated expatriates from Indonesia, Pakistan, Brazil, Vietnam, Egypt, and India to enter the kingdom.
