If you know your pile driver from your backbreaker, you’ll be thrilled to hear that WWE Crown Jewel is returning to Riyadh. As part of Riyadh Season, tickets are now available on the festival’s site, so you book yourself a seat and watch the action.
WWE Crown Jewel, organised by WWE and the General Entertainment Authority, is set to take place at Mohammed Abdo Theater on the Boulevard in Riyadh on October 21. We’ll be cheering on Mansoor Al-Shehail, the first-ever Saudi-born wrestler to compete in WWE. The main event is the much-anticipated showdown between the champion Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.
Women wrestlers are also expected to enter the ring – when Natalya and Lacey Evans competed in 2019, it was the first time that women fought professionally in Saudi Arabia. While Becky Lynch aims to defend her title against both Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks in a Triple Threat Match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Due to Covid-19, the event had to hang up its singlet for one year, but it is back and expected to provide jaw-dropping and breaking moments. Since a ten-year partnership was signed in 2018 between Saudi Arabia’s General Sports Authority and WWE, this means we have many more years of wrestling await.
WWE Crown Jewel is part of Riyadh Season, which launches the day before on October 20 with a parade across the capital. From October 21, fourteen zones will open with exciting entertainment across the capital. Riyadh, are you ready to rumble?
