K-pop fans rejoice. Riyadh Season seems to have endless surprises in store for us and we are buzzing with excitement about the most recent announcement: South Korean boyband, Stray Kids, and Chungha, the first female K-pop singer to ever perform in Saudi Arabia, will be performing in the capital on January 14.
Riyadh Season previously welcomed the South Korean supergroup, BTS. The popular group were not only the first-ever Korean group to play in Saudi Arabia, but the first foreign artists to play a solo stadium show in Saudi Arabia.
Don’t know what to expect from the next K-pop concert? We’ve got you covered. Here’s everything you can expect from the big K-pop concert in Riyadh.
Book tickets before its sold-out concert
Riyadh can’t get enough of the songs, fashion and food from South Korea. With cafés and restaurants dedicated to keeping the Korean culture alive in the capital, it’s safe to say Riyadh will be crawling with K-pop super fans on the day of the concert. When BTS bought their tour here, it ended up being a sold-out concert at King Fahad International Stadium.
Get ready for groovy dance routines
If you’ve never been to a K-pop concert before, this may be a little new for you. The K-pop industry loves its fair share of interesting dance routines. Stray Kids do an amazing number for their hit single District 9. They’ve said before on multiple occasions that the choreography for the track is one of the most taxing ones from their shows. So it’s time to watch the video and get ready to bust-a-move.
Put your lightsticks in the air
Forget about using the torch on your phone, K-pop has something much cooler. Now if you’re new to the whole K-pop scene you might not know this, but most popular South Korean singers and groups have their own customised fan chants and light sticks, which you can wave around to cheer on your faves. And if you don’t know what fan chants are, they’re basically fans yelling out the singer or group’s name in a very specific order, so as to show support to each of the members. Get practising.
