Saudi Design Festival kicks off in JAX Diriyah

Check out everything from graffiti to 3D canvases at this cool art festival

Calling all art fanatics, this one’s for you. After the massive success of Saudi Design Week which was launched in 2014, the Saudi Design Festival has since been inaugurated which is bringing you tonnes of local Saudi talent. The festival kicked off in JAX Diriyah on January 9.

Celebrate local artists at Saudi Design Festival, as the festival brings together shopping experiences with cool concept stores and local fashion designers, as well as exhibitions and food trucks.

The event partners are the Ministry of Culture, Mercedes Benz, Alliance Francaise SA, the Embassy of Italy in Riyadh and more. When you walk in, you are greeted by a plethora of small pop-up shops for companies like Draft Creations, BOLD, The First Supper and Ghazlah Studios.

Saudi Design Festival is divided into multiple art exhibitions, these include Misk Art Institute showcasing its 100 Best Arabic poster competition, Al Mashtal Creative Space showcasing artistic products like handpainted notebooks and 3D canvas art, Shaddah Studios with a Street Poet collection celebrating graffiti artists in the Kingdom. Plus, if you’re a fan of the graffiti, you can buy one of the T-Shirts showing the talent on the streets of Riyadh.

Also on display is the award-winning chair from the Bahrain pavilion at the Dubai Expo 2020 by Tila Chair. A collaboration between The First Supper and Ghazlah Studios titled Together We Bloom, the audience can place fabric flowers on a mirrored handmade carpet on display.

Need refuelling? Then visit on-site cafés like Draft, so you can power through the event.
