Can Riyadh kick it? Yes, it can. The General Entertainment Authority’s Chairman, Turki Al-Sheikh, has announced that Riyadh Season will host a match between Diego Maradona’s former football clubs Barcelona and Boca Juniors as they compete during the Maradona Cup.
The two former clubs of the superstar footballer, Maradona, will compete during the special event. The Maradona Cup takes place on Thursday November 25, which is the date that Maradona died and will be held to honour the footballing legend.
While the former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, will coach a team of Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr players in a match against Paris Saint-Germain in Riyadh Season Cup. This will be the first-ever time that the French side is playing in Saudi Arabia.
The Paris Saint-Germain in Riyadh Season Cup takes place in January. Along with the Maradona Cup, it is expected to be one of Riyadh Season’s most popular events. Tickets for the football matches have yet to released, but keep an eye on Time Out Riyadh for the latest news.
Riyadh Season 2021-22 is the largest festival of its kind in the Middle East and is this time expected to reach 20 million visitors – twice as many as the last event.
