Some coffee may be new, but it is already gaining a strong reputation. The café has perfected the oh-so cool décor, especially the sleek minimalist design that seems to be so on trend in Riyadh’s coffee shops. It’s all very bright and airy with big windows coupled with the kind of natural light that makes an estate agent coo with excitement.
White interiors (including a white piano, which was untouched on our visit) are accentuated by green cushions, green doors and greener cacti. While the cute little black tables give it an intimate vibe, meaning you have to huddle that bit closer to your coffee-sipping companions.
We can see why this place has become such a quick hit – the baristas know their beans. Whether you’re after a flat white or a latte, every drop is on point. Plus, the cups are topped with impressive foam art, from swans to a seahorse, which should put a smile on your face. After a cold drink? The iced coconut latte is currently getting the most love on social media.
Sweet treats, from date cake to walnut cake, are delightful desserts, although on the small side. But since this café delivers with big, bold coffee to keep us buzzing, it’s a small quibble.
While Some Coffee has already become a busy venue, you’ll find quiet in one its corners or by the bookshelves. You can tell a lot about someone (or a café) by their bookshelf, so Some Coffee – with its long-reads like Plato’s Republic and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein – is telling the world that it is a sophisticated spot where you are encouraged to unwind. So sip,
relax, repeat.
