You’ll be drawn in before you even cross that pink (natch) velvet rope into the latest branch at Panorama Mall, because no matter what gate you come from, there’s no missing those fuchsia neon signs.
EL&N (short for Eat, Live and Nourish) has opened four locations in the Saudi capital in the first half of 2022 and diners are still showing up in droves to snap, stare and snack their way through the experience. The Panorama Mall location is the first one to offer EL&N’s full all-day menu, while the others are strictly focused on sweets and drinks.
Diners can opt for EL&N’s signature brunch dishes at all hours or move to “main events” like burgers, chapatis and sandwiches. Of course, there’s plenty of coffee and fruity Instagrammable drinks, like the signature ombré passion fruit cooler. Then go pick a sweet treat from the pastry case.
For fans of breakfast at any time, the eggs Benedict with turkey bacon and avocado is a hearty, decadent order. You might expect dainty portions, but plates are filling (two eggs, two English muffins) and it’s not a case of style over substance, either. The mixed berry cake is a no-filter-needed purple beauty that manages to deftly swerve saccharine (though you’ll still need a sweet tooth to appreciate it).
Staff are sweet, and know their sweets too, and take enjoyment in the food papping happening about the place, even asking if they can assist with that perfect Insta angle.
Slide into a booth, or grab a seat by the bespoke Cadillac Sunbeam in EL&N’s signature hue to find yourself in prime Instagram territory.
EL&N London’s fourth outing in Riyadh is everything you’ve come to expect from the brand. Go for the kitsch, stay for the cakes.
