Not that you need that much convincing, but there’s now one more reason to visit AlUla. As events return to Maraya Concert Hall, Lebanese superstar Hiba Tawaji will be the first performer taking to the iconic stage. Tickets are now on sale for the one-off concert scheduled for Friday October 29.
The renowned singer, actor and director has an international fan base, but she’s especially close to our hearts, as she was the first female singer to perform live in Saudi Arabia in 2017. With a career spanning almost 15 years, guests can expect an evening of Arabic and non-Arabic music.
Hiba Tawaji said: “I have always wanted to perform in AlUla, a place with such history and creative legacy. To sing in Maraya is such an honour, we had to think carefully about this performance to do the destination and venue justice and it will be a special event.”
Take a seat in the glittering Maraya, which is a mirrored building shimmering in the middle of the desert, which reflects the surrounding beauty, from the night’s sky to the soaring rocks. A shiny 9,740 square metres of mirrors cover the outer wall – that’s a whole lot of sparkle, especially at night time.
While inside the concert hall itself, you’ll be just as dazzled, as at the back of the stage is a glass window that gives you a stunning view of AlUla. After you’ve been wowed by the concert (and hall), you’ll be seriously impressed by Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton’s new restaurant Maraya Social.
Maraya was last used for musical events in March 2020 when it hosted Lionel Richie. It has also hosted landmark events, from the 41st Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit to the Nobel Laureates Prize 2020.
