From June 2024, there will no longer be rules in place only allowing passengers to take 100ml liquids through airport security.
Wave goodbye to having to decanter your favourite shampoo into mini bottles.
The changes will see the 100ml liquid rule increased to two litres, and another update to the rules will mean passengers won’t need to remove electrical items from bags at security either.
Sounds like getting through airport security in the UK will be speedier than ever.
The reason for the rule shake-up?
The UK government plans for most British airports to install new high-tech 3D scanners and these will show more detailed images of baggage.
Since November 2006, travellers with cabin bags have only been allowed to take liquids, such as toiletries, in 100ml bottles and inside a clear plastic bag, for security reasons.
Suitcases packed in the airplane hold have always been allowed to carry larger quantities of liquids.
