Eid al-Adha 2023 is one of the most significant dates to keep in your calendar.
Known as the Holiday of Sacrifice, it is one of the most important public holidays commemorated in Islam every year.
It comes after Arafat Day, the second day of the week-long Hajj pilgrimage.

Arafat Day is expected to take place on June 27.
If that happens, Eid al-Adha will directly follow – meaning it will be commemorated on June 28, 29 and 30.
This means there could be four consecutive public holidays at the end of June: from Tuesday 27 to Friday 30.
It leaves the door open to a five-day break if you factor in the weekend of June 30 to July 1.
Arafat Day and Eid al-Adha would be the third and fourth major public holidays of the year, after Founding Day (February 22) and Eid al-Fitr – expected to go ahead on April 23 to April 25.
Like the earlier Eid al-Fitr, confirmed dates for Eid al-Adha will only be announced in Saudi according to the relevant moon sightings.
But that doesn’t mean there’s any harm in planning ahead.
There are a few Saudi public holidays lined up for 2023. See below for a full list.
