Radisson opens new hotels across Saudi Arabia

The new hotel openings include Radisson Hotel Riyadh Airport

While we love to get away, there’s nothing like appreciating the beauty of Saudi Arabia and indulging in a staycation. Thanks to Radisson Hotel Group, that will be a little bit easier, as it has just announced that it will be doubling its hotel portfolio in the Kingdom by 2026 and setting up a regional headquarters in 2022.

Radisson currently has 24 hotels, resorts and serviced apartments in Saudi, with 20 more on the way in the coming months and over three years. The hotel group is looking to have 80 properties in operation and development by 2026. Most recently, it just opened the Radisson Hotel Riyadh Airport.

The group’s vice president, development, Middle East, Cyprus, Greece, and Pakistan, Elie Milky, says, “Our current pipeline of 20 hotels opening within the coming months are expected to generate an additional 4,000 jobs in the main locations of Riyadh, Jeddah, the Eastern Province, Makkah and some secondary cities.”

Under the Vision 2030 and National Tourism Strategy goals, the tourism sector in Saudi is set to contribute one million new jobs by 2030. Hospitality forms a major part of that goal, as the likes of Radisson, pledge to generate thousands of jobs.

He adds: “In 2021 alone, we signed 2,000 keys, led primarily by doubling our portfolio in Makkah as well as Jeddah, some of which are expected to open this year.”

Milky adds, “Upcoming projects include Mansard Riyadh, a Radisson Collection Hotel as the Kingdom’s second Radisson Collection, and located on the prestigious Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Road. This 200-key luxury lifestyle offering also includes villas and serviced apartments as well as three high-end F&B concepts, unlike anything the Kingdom has seen. The property as a city hotel is expected to complement Nofa Riyadh, a Radisson Collection Resort, which currently offers unmatched leisure facilities outside the city.

“Another opening is the Radisson BLU Hotel adjacent to the Riyadh International Exhibition Centre owned by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, also offering more than 200 keys. We have also just opened the 500-key Radisson Riyadh Airport to tap into a large gap in the market as we grow our airport portfolio locally, regionally and globally.” We can’t wait to check in and check them out.
