5 games that changed my life: Abdulrahman, aka Niid

A gamer and a video editor. He started his journey playing GTA V and a PlayStation console. Here are five games that changed his life

Not in this for numbers or views, all Niid (as he likes to be called) wants is to enjoy his hobbies – gaming and design – and to share that with his followers.

Driven by a passion for adventures and challenges, especially competitive shooter games, Niid decided to enter the gaming world. He owes this passion to PlayStation consoles – all five of them. While he thinks mobile games will be the future of gaming, mainly due to accessibility and advancements made in terms of graphics, gameplay and server quality, he doesn’t think mobile games will have the same level of success as world-renowned gaming platforms like PlayStation, Xbox and others. Here’s how Niid’s play unfolded…

1. GTA V

The game revolves around a group of characters who try to pursue their desires by engaging in criminal activities, despite their different motives. He explains, “Through GTA V, I started my gaming career and got into the world of online and shooter games. I became so obsessed with this game that I cut myself off from the world all the time in order to play. The game was also my gateway to the world of editing and short stories, especially since it was developed by the one and only Rockstar.”

2. Fortnite

One that needs little introduction, Fortnite is set after a fluke storm appears across Earth, which causes the majority of the population to disappear. The battle royale-style game allows players to help survivors fight evil creatures. “This beautiful game helped me make a lot of friends, many of whom became special real-life friends. Everyone loves Fortnite, adults and kids, professionals and amateurs. The game has evolved significantly, as the developer has added servers for the Middle East and the Arabic language.”

3 Modern Warfare

Among the most widely played war games, Modern Warfare takes place in a realistic, modern setting, in a country plagued by turmoil. Players can choose which side of the confrontation they want to be on and this determines the type of weapons they use.
“It’s my favourite war game at the moment despite the release of new editions of the Call of Duty series. The realistic aspect is what impresses me the most, especially as it captures the attention of anyone watching the game. I hope there will be more releases that are similar to this particular edition.”

4 FIFA

Right up there with the most popular games of all time. FIFA allows players to choose their favorite team and stars from different leagues from the world. As in real football, the game is based on a simple principle: the player who scores the most wins. “This is my favourite when I’m by myself. I like everything about this game, and I like it more and more every day. I don’t think I will ever stop playing FIFA.”

5 Red Dead Redemption 2

Set in the American West, a group of outlaws are forced to escape after a failed heist. They fight for survival while evading the authorities and bounty hunters. “What attracts me is its interesting storyline and beautiful graphics. I’ve awaited its release since and play it for hours. I enjoy its long adventures with all my friends. The upcoming updates will bring new playing modes that we, as players, have never imagined.”
