Renowned French restaurant LPM joins Riyadh’s rapidly growing food scene

The French restaurant is finally here

We know that Riyadh has world-class restaurants, but to prove the point LPM, the fine-dining French restaurant, has finally opened in the capital.

And with branches across London, Dubai (read Time Out Dubai‘s review here) and Hong Kong, LPM Riyadh joins a list of major global cities for the culinary heavyweight.

While it may be located near the Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah Hotel, the food and ambience is so on brand, you’ll feel like you’re in the South of France. Near the buzzing business district of the city, its déjeuner d’affaires (business lunch) menu is sure to be a hit with office workers.

And its a sizeable dining room, with seating for up to 140 guests inside and 30 out on the terrace. That doesn’t mean you can just walk in, however, and we recommend booking in advance at this much-anticipated opening.

Nicolas Budzynski, the brand’s global operations director, said ahead of the opening: “There is a lot of excitement around LPM opening in Riyadh. We have people popping up in the restaurant every day [to ask about the opening]. I also see an influx of business travellers, and the amount of high-end restaurants opening is huge.”

The Riyadh restaurant hasn’t lost any of the brand’s charm or iconic style, with white tablecloths offset by vibrant, funky paintings. Street art pieces, such as Mickey Mouse complete with a cigarette, are sure to gain likes on the ‘gram.

Currently open for lunch and dinner, the menu aims to change the perception of French food and move away from heavy dishes. Instead, it’s all about light, healthy dishes here, from cauliflower salads and ratatouille to snails with garlic butter (okay, so it’s not all healthy, but you can’t lunch at LPM and not order the escargots).

Bon appétit …
