What you can expect from Six Flags Qiddiya

The theme park will include the world’s longest and fastest rollercoaster

Calling all adrenaline junkies, this one’s for you. The Six Flags amusement park company will be bringing all the fun to Saudi Arabia soon with Six Flags Qiddiya.

Located right on the outskirts of Riyadh, Six Flags will be a part of the new Qiddiya development project which was established in 2018. The park is expected to be completed by 2023 and here’s everything we know so far.

Michael Reininger, chief executive officer of QIC, says, “Our vision is to make Six Flags Qiddiya a theme park that delivers all the thrills and excitement that audiences from all over the world have come to expect from the Six Flags brand and to elevate those experiences with authentic themes connected to the location.

“As a place that will create indelible memories and moments of delight, telling stories that resonate with our guests is a central notion that will be evident throughout Qiddiya.”

Six Flags Qiddiya will be the largest of its parks in the world and bigger than its counterparts in the United States, Mexico and Canada. Covering 320,000 square metres, it will be set against the Tuwaiq mountain range.

The park is divided into seven parts: Citadel, The City of Thrills, Discovery Springs, Steam Town, Twilight Gardens, Valley of Fortune and Grand Exposition. And each of the seven parts reflects a very huge part of the Arabian heritage. The Discovery Springs represent Qiddiya’s unique relationship with both the sea and the desert, and City of Thrills reflects the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

In the City of Thrills, you will find one of the most anticipated rides: The Falcon Flight. Inspired by Saudi’s national bird, it will be the longest, fastest, and perhaps most fun rollercoaster in the world.

“‘At Six Flags Qiddiya, we return to the heritage by creating six immersive lands designed for Saudis of all ages who seek family entertainment experiences steeped in their rich culture and history. We are thrilled to be part of a project of such scale and scope and are proud to celebrate this milestone with Qiddiya,” adds David McKillips, president of Six Flags International Development Company.

Get ready for some action-packed family fun, Riyadh.
