Hype Dish: B burger in Riyadh at Section-B

What goes into the Riyadh plates that everyone bangs on about

One of Saudi’s best known, best-loved home-grown burger joints, it was only a matter of time before Section-B banked an appearance on the tastiest back page in town.

Born in Jeddah back in 2015, Section-B prides itself on making classic burgers (though certainly isn’t afraid to dabble in a bit of fusion every now and again. Today, it has branches in major cities around the country, including right here in Riyadh.

Mansour Gadhi, the owner of Section-B, says: “It’s not a burger that’s trendy or flashy created for social media, what we offer is a timeless good burger”.

In seven years, the brand has come a long way. “We used to open one day a week on Fridays. All orders were pre-orders – people needed to book their burgers. We listened to people and we kept adjusting our recipes based on their feedback until we reached the final result, which is now loved by everybody”.

Combined with consistency, it’s been a recipe for success ever since. “We rarely ever disappoint. You always get what you expect,” Gadhi says.

Section-B’s short menu keeps things simple – and it all starts with the OG B burger. Here’s how the team build a legend.
SAR39. Open daily noon-1am. Prince Turki Alawwal Street, sectionb-sa.com.

The buns
Our brown buns are baked in-house on a daily basis, so they’re always fresh.

The cheese
We use premium American cheese, which is sourced specifically to suit the burgers.

The beef
A smashed US Prime Certified Angus beef mince is used, simply seasoned with salt and pepper while grilling. Everything is made to order, nothing is pre-cooked, and nothing is re-heated.

The sauce
Section-B’s house burger sauce is a mixture of mayonnaise, ketchup and secret seasonings.

The extras
Diners can customise their burger however they want, choosing which extras to add or lose. The most popular include lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, mushrooms and fried egg.
