Cirque du Soleil to bring more shows to the Kingdom

New shows include The Illusionist, Now You See Me and Paw Patrol Live

Roll up, roll up. Cirque du Soleil will be coming into town, along with a whole bunch of new shows. Get ready to be amazed, as Cirque du Soleil has signed an agreement with the Saudi Ministry of Culture to bring more shows to the Kingdom.

The partnership will see a number of shows like The Illusionist, Now You See Me, Paw Patrol Live – Race to Rescue, Trolls Live!, and Blue Man Group World Tour making a debut in the Kingdom. And down the line, Saudi Arabia might also be hosting a show inspired by the country itself.

Cirque du Soleil will also be opening a regional training institute and an office. The institute will be led by experts in the field, and will be open to young students from all across the Kingdom. Since practice makes perfect, this will be one of the goals at the facility, to help trainees hone their skills through international exchange programmes and residence programs.

We’ve seen a total of six shows by Cirque du Soleil in Saudi Arabia so far since 2018, most recently in November at Riyadh Season. Messi 10 by Cirque du Soleil mixed acrobatics with athleticism, bringing together the world of football and circus, as it celebrated the magic behind one of the greatest footballers.

The agreement was signed between HH Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Theater and Performing Arts Commission, and Mr.
Gabriel de Alba, Co-Chairman of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group Board of
Directors.

As part of Saudi Vision 2030, the Theater and Performing Arts Commission aims to have at least 4,500 graduate performers along will 4,000 qualified trainees within the Kingdom. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for us here in Riyadh.
