Saudia to operate extra London to Riyadh flights

More flights will be taking off from London Heathrow from December 15

It’s rare to find positive travel news, but here’s an announcement that has got us feeling wanderlust. Saudi Arabia’s flagship carrier, Saudia, is launching extra daily flights from London to Riyadh. The Saudia flights will be taking off from London Heathrow at 10am and arrive in Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport at 7pm.

Manager of Saudia UK, Sultan Otaify, confirmed the news. He said: “Starting from December 15, we will have double daily flights connecting London to Riyadh with more capacity and seats, while maintaining our flight to Jeddah.”

In 2019, Saudi Arabia launched its tourist visa, which has made it more accessible to people wanting to visit the kingdom. The country also recently changed its Umrah rules, as people visiting the two holy mosques must be fully vaccinated again COVID-19.

CEO of the Council of British Hajjis, Rashid Mogradia, said: “It’s been a very difficult 18 months, not just for the tourism sector, but worldwide. However, the work that the government of Saudi Arabia has done to open up the kingdom has been very welcome.

“We are looking at ways to work together to ensure that British pilgrims and pilgrims worldwide can enjoy the facilities that the Kingdom is now providing them with.”
