Riyadh Season: What to expect from MBC’s new talent show

Watch singers battle it out to become the next big thing in the Middle East

Riyadh Season is fully underway offering an exciting schedule of entertainment to people of all ages. This year’s new addition is the MBC talent show, Boulevard al-Mawaheb, which will delight music fans.

We’ve all heard of various talent shows, from The X-Factor to The Voice. Now, Saudi gets its very own version. In collaboration with the General Entertainment Authority, MBC has launched a new format for the classic singing competition.

Eight semi-professional singers will be brought together to compete for the chance to become the next best thing in the Middle East. The live shows can be found on the Shahid streaming service. You can catch daily behind the scenes footage can be seen on MBC4, and get regular updates will be provided on their social media.

The teams will be led by two top talent managers in the industry: Hassan Taleb and Hamdi Badr. Taleb manages the artists Rashed al-Majed, Waleed al-Shami and Meteb al-Shalan. While Badr manages Egyptian star Mohammed Hamaki.

The teams will be judged on two factors: their social media status and engagement, and the amount of money they bring in. Badr says: “What makes this program unique is that it will show the behind the scenes of creating a star.”

The programme also aims to make one performer’s dreams come true and show you the human side of the industry. The first show was streamed on November 1 on Shahid’s streaming service, and every week you can catch a new episode.
