FIFA unveils FIFA World Cup 2026 host cities

48 teams will play in sixteen host cities in three different countries

With the buzz of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in the air here in Doha, more FIFA news was announced over the weekend.

Late on Friday night it was announced that sixteen cities across three countries will host the world-renowned sports tournament in 2026.

Games for FIFA World Cup 2026 will be hosted in the Canada, Mexico and the United States of America.

The announcement was broadcast live in collaboration with FOX and Telemundo from New York to viewers across Canada, Mexico and the USA. The news was also announced via FIFA+. Also for the first time ever in FIFA history, in 2026 forty-eight teams will participate in the tournament.

Eleven host cities in the USA will include Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle.

Games will also be played in three cities in Mexico; Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey.

While Canada will host matches in both Toronto and Vancouver.

FIFA President, Gianni Infantino said “We congratulate the sixteen FIFA World Cup host cities on their outstanding commitment and passion.
